Yes support rise is no landmark

I AM no mathematician, but isn’t there something suspect about the ICM opinion poll comment (News, 26 January) that purports to be “the biggest swing so far showing support for Scotland going it alone” but yet only comments on a poll from a total of 1,004 people in Scotland?

In addition, some of the results clearly do not count the “don’t knows”. Again this must skew the outcomes of such a poll.

Finally, and after putting such emphasis on the change (towards voting Yes), the poll only asked 44 eligible young voters. “A landmark moment in the referendum campaign”? I don’t think so.
