Ewan McGregor 'the perfect choice' for TV film on Richey
FORMER Death Row prisoner Kenny Richey is in talks about a television film on his life.
The 43-year-old met with producers in London last week over the project, which is still in its early stages.
The film would cover his time in the United States as a Marine before spending time on Death Row after a child died in a fire he was convicted of starting.
The movie would also document his release and his attempts to return to normal life in the Capital.
Richey said: "I've had discussions with the company about doing the film for the BBC.
"The producers mentioned approaching Ewan McGregor to play me. I think he would be perfect. They are coming up to Edinburgh soon to spend time with me and find what I've been up to since prison."
London-based firm The Producers, confirmed it had held talks with Richey.
