Evolutionary theory of ID

Alistair Donald (Letters, 13 February) is mistaken about intelligent design. Its founders and sponsors are on record as wanting to replace evolutionary biology and science in general with something more compatible with their religion. All the scientific-sounding ID arguments have failed miserably.

Moreover, it was the alleged lack of evidence for the evolutionary origins of early lifeforms that apparently convinced Anthony Flew that God existed, not arguments from the ID movement.
