Boost broadband instead of trains

WILL the savings in journey times on the proposed high-speed rail line really make that much of a difference to travellers and the economy? A lot of time saved on the rail link will be wasted at either end by getting from terminal to office. Indeed how many folk will be able to afford the fare? The whole scheme is a very expensive white elephant.

But think of the business benefits £33 billion would bring if this money were to be spent on bringing superfast broadband to all parts of England, Scotland and Wales. This would kick-start business throughout the country.
