Details of the declaration agreed at the UN conference in Rio De Janeiro
1. Renew commitment to sustainable development and to ensuring the promotion of an economically, socially and environmentally sustainable future.
2. Committed to freeing humanity from poverty and hunger as a matter of urgency.
3. Further mainstream sustainable development at all levels, integrating economic, social and environmental aspects.
4. Poverty eradication, changing unsustainable patterns of consumption and production and protecting and managing the natural resource base of economic and social development.
5. Reaffirm commitment to make every effort to accelerate the achievement of the internationally agreed development goals.
6. Strive for a world that is just, equitable and inclusive.
7. Continue to be guided by the purposes and principles of the United Nations.
8. Reaffirm the importance of freedom, peace and security, respect for all human rights.
9. Reaffirm the importance of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
10. Acknowledge that democracy is essential for sustainable development.
11. Reaffirm our commitment to strengthen international cooperation.
12. Resolve to take urgent action to achieve sustainable development.
13. Recognize that opportunities for people to influence their lives and future are fundamental for sustainable development.
