Scots politicians need to 'think nature', says RSPB
SCOTLAND'S politicians are failing to halt the decline of the natural environment, according to the RSPB.
It said MSPs had to put "the natural world at the heart of decision-making" or face losing more of its wildlife.
The report measured the performance of the Scottish Government and other UK administrations against their targets for protecting wildlife and tackling climate change. Lloyd Austin, the head of policy at RSPB Scotland, said: "We challenge MSPs to invest in those things our children will thank us for in the future.
"They need to put the natural world at the heart of decision-making if we are to halt the loss of our wildlife and special places. They have to think nature.
"RSPB Scotland has drawn up ten principles to help them do just that. We would urge politicians to use them to guide future decision-making."
