Scotland’s weather: Wintry blast set to continue

WINTRY conditions will blanket much of Scotland today and continue into the week, said forecasters.

Snow, hail, sleet and rain showers are predicted to bring difficult conditions, with the Met Office posting yellow “be aware” warnings for many areas.

Temperatures today will not exceed 4C, said Paul Mott, senior meteorologist at MeteoGroup. Eastern areas are expected to be hardest hit. There could be up to 3ins of snow on high ground. Temperatures will remain low this week with further wintery showers expected.
