Rare penguins survive oil disaster

Endangered birds may have escaped the worst effects of an oil spill in the South Atlantic a year ago, a survey has shown.

Thousands of rockhopper penguins were threatened by the disaster off Nightingale Island, part of Tristan da Cunha, a UK overseas territory.

I’m not surprised the penguins escaped. Penguins are clever little birds. Have you seen the ad on TV with the penguins indulging in fancy ice skating moves about the ice rink? Well done to our penguins, I’m overjoyed you are all safe (I really mean that)
