A POST mortem on the whale which was found dead on a beach in Joppa has been carried out.

Police Scotland and an SSPCA were called to the scene after the sperm whale was discovered on the beach on Saturday.

The Scottish Marine Animal Stranding Scheme has carried out a post mortem on the animal and has ruled out being struck by a ship as the cause of death.
