Cubs new stars with stripes

A TRIO of rare tiger cubs made their first public appearance at a wildlife park yesterday.

The Amur tiger cubs were born at the Highland Wildlife Park near Kingussie to parents Yuri and Sasha (above with one of the cubs). The parent tigers arrived at the park last September from Edinburgh Zoo.

There are an estimated 500 Amur tigers left in the wild, confined to far-east Russia. The tigers in Scotland are part of a European breeding programme.
