X-Factor judge 'sorry' over gay contestant comment
THE X FACTOR judge Dannii Minogue last night issued an on-air apology to viewers offended over her comments about a contestant's sexuality.
Danyl Johnson altered the lyrics of Whitney Houston's And I Am Telling You, so that he was singing about a woman, rather than a man.
During the live show on Saturday, Minogue said: "If you're to believe everything you read in the papers, then you didn't need to change the gender references in the song."
Last night, Simon Cowell rushed to her support, saying she was "the last person in the world who would ever say anything offensive".
Kandy Rain were kicked out of the X Factor live finals in the first public vote of this year's competition.
The all-girl group from London were narrowly beaten by Rachel Adedeji in a final contest after they had received the lowest number of votes following their live performances last night.
