Unrest threat to cycle bid

CYCLING star Mark Beaumont's latest major cycling challenge is under threat due to political unrest.

The 26-year-old may be forced to abandon his bid to pedal 15,000 miles from the top of North America to the bottom of South America because of ongoing violence in Colombia and Honduras.

The Edinburgh-based rider, who became the fastest man to cycle round the world last year, is four months into his Cycling the Americas challenge.
