Teenager charged with theft from SuBo's house
A TEENAGE boy has been charged in connection with a theft at Susan Boyle's home.
The incident happened at the 48-year-old singer's house in Blackburn, West Lothian, on 26 January.
She disturbed an intruder when she returned home from London, where she had been recording the Helping Haiti charity single.
At the time she said the incident was "nothing to worry about" but had left her "shaken".
Lothian and Borders Police said: "A 16-year-old youth has been arrested and charged in connection with a theft that happened at a property in Yule Terrace, Blackburn, on 26 January.
"He will now be subject to a report to the Children's Reporter."
Ms Boyle, a church worker, became an international star when her performance of a song from the musical Les Misrables wowed the audience and judges on TV show Britain's Got Talent last year.
Her album, I Dreamed a Dream, went straight to No 1 in the charts and achieved the best first week's sale for a debut.
Despite her fame, she has not moved from the council house she has lived in since she was a child, which she shares with her cat, Pebbles.
Initially it had been thought the raider had fled the scene empty-handed after being disturbed by Ms Boyle returning with a friend.
Because of the suspect's age, a file will be sent to the Children's Reporter for the area who will then decide whether or not further action is required.
The identity of the suspect cannot be published for legal reasons.
It was revealed earlier this month that the Britain's Got Talent star plans now to quit Scotland following the scare and other dramas at her home.
In November a crazed American fan turned up prompting record bosses to appoint a security firm to patrol the area.
