Teenage son of Travolta dies 'in bathtub accident'

THE teenage son of the film star John Travolta died last night after injuring himself at the actor's holiday home.

Sixteen-year-old Jett Travolta hit his head in a bathtub during a medical episode, police in the Bahamas said.

A house caretaker found Jett, 16, unconscious in a bathroom late yesterday morning.

He was taken by ambulance to hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to a statement from police superintendent Basil Rahming.

Jett had last been seen going into the bathroom on Thursday and had a history of seizures. Police are planning a post-mortem examination to determine cause of death.

Another police spokeswoman said Jett apparently hit his head on the bathtub.

A hospital spokeswoman said she could not release any information because of privacy concerns.

Jett was the oldest child of Travolta and his wife, actress Kelly Preston, who also have an eight-year-old daughter.
