Stephen Gateley's partner complains to PCC

STEPHEN Gately's civil partner Andrew Cowles has lodged a complaint with the press watchdog over a controversial article.

Gately, 33, a singer with Boyzone, died suddenly while on holiday in Majorca in October.

In a Daily Mail column, Jan Moir wrote: "Healthy and fit 33-year-old men do not just climb into their pyjamas and go to sleep on the sofa, never to wake up again. Whatever the cause of death is, it is not, by any yardstick, a natural one."

The Press Complaints Commission has logged around 25,000 complaints about the article. Moir has denied it was homophobic.
