Aussie govenment in Britney lip-synch row
GOVERNMENT officials have weighed in to a growing row over allegations that Britney Spears is miming during her first ever Australian tour.
Fans left Spears' show at the Perth Burswood Dome only three songs into the concert on Friday, complaining of a lacklustre performance, apparent lip-synching and their inability to see Spears on the jumbo screens on stage.
The concert exodus came on the heels of government calls for full disclosure from celebrities, namely Spears, who chose to lip-synch during their live concerts.
Virginia Judge, minister for fair trade for New South Wales, said she was considering making performers like Spears reveal their intention to lip-synch.
She said: "Live means live. If you are spending up to AS$200 you deserve better than a film clip."
