Enterprising young people earn praise
THE achievements of young entrepreneurs are to be celebrated at an event taking place in the Capital later this month.
The Young Enterprise Project, which assists young people into self-employment or helps them start their own businesses, is holding a showcase of its achievements at the Craigmillar Business Incubator.
Funded by the city council and delivered by Edinburgh Chamber of Commerce, the scheme is for those aged between 16 and 24 who are not in employment, education or training.
Since July 2009, 520 young people have gone to the Chamber for help, with 245 starting their own business or becoming self-employed.
Project manager Jimmy O'Connor said: "The unique selling point of this project is that the enterprise guide is there to assist and provide comprehensive one-to-one support to clients at all stages."
