Ellie Symonds returns home to open pool

PARALYMPIC gold medallist Ellie Simmonds has returned to her home borough to officially open a swimming pool re-named in her honour.

The 17-year-old star, who took time to inspect a postbox which was painted gold to mark her success, thanked members of the public for their “amazing” turn-out on the streets of Aldridge, West Midlands.
