Elderly to get rehabilitation
MORE elderly people who leave hospital will be offered the chance of physical rehabilitation under an NHS Lothian scheme.
Health chiefs want to encourage more people to rebuild their lives after leaving hospital, rather than return home without regaining fitness and general health.
It will initially focus on people in the north of the city who are discharged from the Royal Victoria Hospital. They will be given help by a health worker to identify their needs. Strategic programme manager for older people Katie McWilliam said: "We want to ensure that we can provide the right kind of care."
