AN elderly man has died after a fire in a flat in Livingston.

Firefighters were called to a block of four-storey flats on Hawk Brae shortly after 4pm yesterday.

Crews pulled the unidentified man from his ground-floor flat, but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A police spokesman said the victim had been elderly, but could would not confirm his identity.
