Whale of a time with first film
A FILM graduate has made his first professional documentary after shooting for a month in Argentina.
Mark Young, who graduated from Stevenson College earlier this year, made his half-hour film about ecological conservation and the effects on the southern right whale population.
The film, which was shot in the Rio Negro province of Argentina, was Mr Young's first professional project since completing the HND in audio visual technology at Stevenson.
He was commissioned by Oceanus Explorers who produce marine documentaries and media projects aimed at promoting marine conservation.
He said: "This was a unique life experience.
"I was so close to the whales I could smell the sea water on them. Combining this with directing my first professional film made it even more special."
