Universities attract Scots
THE number of Scottish students accepted for university or college places in Scotland rose by nearly 3 per cent this year, new figures revealed.
Some 25,654 students were accepted, compared with 24,972 last year, according to provisional figures issued by the university admissions service Ucas.
The increase was hailed as "very encouraging" by the Scottish Government, which said it was the first set of figures since legislation to scrap the Graduate Endowment Fee was passed.
