Special needs youth club awarded £118,000
A YOUTH club for young people with special needs has received £118,000 to set up a training café.
The Pennypit Special Needs Youth Club in Prestonpans was awarded the funding to provide a caf in which young people can be trained in catering.
The club will now offer on-the-job training to an initial four trainees at the Pit Stop Caf.
East Lothian Learning Partnership will assist with literacy and numeracy skills, Jewel & Esk College will deliver modules and Starbucks will offer training in coffee making.
The Pit Stop Caf will employ a manager and a catering supervisor and assistant.
