A TEACHER who had sex with a 17-year-old pupil in the front seat of her car is undergoing counselling and making good progress, a court has heard.

Eppie Sprung Dawson, 27, was put on a six-month community payback order in July.

She was ordered to return to Dumfries Sheriff Court so that Sheriff George Jamieson could study progress reports.

Dawson, of Pleasance Avenue, Dumfries, who is also on the sex offenders’ register for six months, has been undergoing counselling and is supervised by social workers.

Sheriff Jamieson was told by her agent, David Finnie, that his client had been responding to the counselling and had shown positive reactions.

Sheriff Jamieson said the reports were exemplary and there was no need for a further review, meaning she will not face jail.

He said the two reports should continue until their conclusion.
