Schools set to fill pool void
LEITH Academy and Braidburn Special School will be used by Edinburgh Leisure for swimming lessons when the Royal Commonwealth Pool closes in June for refurbishment.
Members of the council's education committee agreed the move. Private swimming companies, who already use the schools, have raised concerns about being forced out of business when Esdinburgh Leisure moves in.
But councillors said officials had worked "extensively" to accommodate everyone and referred the matter to the culture and leisure committee for approval.
