Schools reel in new book on brown trout
AN ILLUSTRATED book on the life cycle of the brown trout is being distributed free to every primary school in Scotland, as part of an educational initiative.
It is the work of the Salmon and Trout Association, which has more than 100,000 individual and club members throughout the UK.
Scottish National Heritage and the Scottish Environmental Protection Agency have given their support.
The book tells the story of the brown trout from egg to adulthood, and further volumes are planned on the life cycle of the salmon and environmental issues facing Scotland's rivers and lochs.
