Pupils work in concert to raise funds
PUPILS at a primary school in Leith have organised a fundraising concert in aid of the Haiti Earthquake Appeal.
Children in the Peace and Justice Group at St Mary's (Leith) RC Primary School organised the concert, which will take place in the school's gym hall on Tuesday night, as well as a fun music afternoon for pupils on the same day.
Parents and teachers will perform a range of folk, jazz and rock songs to up to 200 people at the concert, with jazz saxophonist Phil Bancroft and jazz pianist Brian Kellock also performing. Pupils from Holyrood High School and Leith Academy will also entertain the audience.
Money raised at the concert will be donated to the Scottish Catholic International Aid Fund (SCIAF).
Tickets for the concert, which starts at 7pm, cost 5 and are available from the school in Links Gardens.
