Pre–school boosts children’s learning

Attending pre-school for more than a year helps to boost a child’s test results later on, according to new research.

Nursery education also helps to close the achievement gap between rich and poor youngsters, the Institute of Education found.

Its study analysed the test results of more than 12,000 15-year-olds from across the UK.
