Parents get truancy text messages

SCHOOLS in Fife have introduced a new messaging system to inform parents when their child skips lessons. Fife Council is rolling out a “Parent Messaging System”, enabling a text or voice message to be sent to parents or carers if their child is missing from class within minutes of a register being taken.
