EDINBURGH Napier University has announced the appointment of a new principal.

Professor Andrea Nolan will take up the position from 1 July after Professor Dame Joan Stringer announced her decision to step down following more than a decade in the post.

Professor Nolan, a veterinary surgeon who has held senior academic posts at Glasgow University, said: “I am delighted to be appointed as the next principal and vice chancellor of Edinburgh Napier University.

“It is a privilege to lead the university, and I look forward very much to building on the success of Professor Stringer’s principalship.”
