Green effort wins silver for Queen Margaret University

Queen Margaret University has won recognition for its environmental efforts after collecting a silver award at the National Green Apple Awards at Edinburgh Castle.

Staff attended the ceremony along with 35 other winners, hosted by The Green Organisation. The awards were launched in 1994, but this was the first time there has been a separate event for Scotland.

Green Organisation spokesman Karl Tullett explained: “The recession was making it difficult for winners to justify coming to London so we have brought the event to them.”
