Engineer Nicole picked for prestigious industry bursary

AN engineering student from Edinburgh has received a bursary to continue her study, after being chosen from hopefuls from across the country.

Nicole Jean, who is now in the fourth and final year of an architectural engineering degree at Heriot-Watt University is the lucky recipient of the Hays Building Services and Chartered Institute of Building Services Engineers (CIBSE) student bursary.

Ms Jean said: "The financial assistance has allowed me to focus on my studies without the added stress of worrying about finances.

"My exam results are due at the end of May and I'm really excited about launching my career and to be able to use all the skills and knowledge gained during my course in the real world."

This is the third consecutive year she has received the bursary, after being nominated by the School of the Built Environment at Heriot-Watt University in Edinburgh.

Mike McNally, director at Hays Building Services, said: "Sponsoring people like Nicole means the industry won't miss out on the best talent.

"I was delighted to hear that Nicole is doing so well in her studies and we will be keeping a close eye on her career progress."
