Criminally good writing tips
TWO Edinburgh-based crime writers are joining forces to help the next wave of up-and-coming authors.
Tony Black and Allan Guthrie, who have had ten novels published between them, now plan to present a workshop in the Capital called Writing Your Crime Novel – Seven Steps to Success.
The workshop is designed to help authors hone their skills by providing an insight into the creative process of planning and writing a crime novel.
It will cover key areas such as plot development, story structure and characterisation.
Mr Black said: "The potential market for crime writers is massive these days, but finding a pathway through it is more difficult than ever."
The workshop is at the Royal Over-Seas Club, Princes Street on 16 July. For details, visit www.theideasspace.co.uk
