Contest marks Mandela's 90th
A WRITING competition to mark Nelson Mandela's 90th birthday is being organised for school- children in Edinburgh.
The contest focuses on the "vision and values that are Mandela's legacy" and children from primary six to sixth year are invited to take part.
Four different topics have been chosen – peace, compassion, freedom and reconciliation.
Director of education, Gillian Tee, said: "Given the profile of Nelson Mandela, and his strong link to the city, consideration is being given to the creation of an anthology as a legacy product."
