Edinburgh Tattoo chief stands down

The chief executive of the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo is set to leave at the end of the year.

Major General Euan Loudon, the former governor of Edinburgh Castle, has been chief executive and producer since 2007. He is leaving to take up the role of chief executive of the St Andrews Links Trust.

Tattoo board chairman, Edinburgh's Lord Provost George Grubb, said: "My fellow directors and I are sorry to lose Euan. He has exceeded our expectations in terms of the agenda that we have set him over the past four years and we are deeply grateful to him."

Major Loudon said: "The Tattoo has gone from strength to strength down the years in the hands of many talented people and I am honoured to have played a part. The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo takes place on the perfect stage."
