A FOURTH man has been charged by police in connection with the alleged murder of a man in Edinburgh.

Mohammed Omar Abdi, 25, died of gunshot wounds after a car chase in the Willowbrae area of the capital on 26 May.

A 25-year-old man is due to appear at Edinburgh Sheriff Court later.

Ahmed Hussain Ahmed, 27, Cadil Huseen, 22, and Muhamud Muhamud, 29, all from London, have already appeared in court earlier charged with murder. They remain in custody.

Following the chase a dark blue VW Sharan was found smashed into railings on Abercorn Avenue at around 1am.

Mr Abdi was found lying nearby with gunshot wounds.

He was rushed to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh where he died soon after. A second man was found injured shortly after police were called to the incident, but survived.

The alleged murder sparked a major police investigation and high-visibility patrols in the weeks which followed.
