Judge blocks sale of home

A COURT of Session judge is preventing the former finance director of an electronics firm that went bust with the loss of 420 jobs from selling his £1 million home in the Capital.

Lord Menzies imposed an inhibition on Ian Durie, who was finance director of Simclar Group, which closed in 2007.

Mr Durie, who is attempting to sell the five-bedroom property in Newington, is embroiled in a dispute with the liquidators over the recovery of 3m dividends paid to staff.
