A teenager has been charged with offences under the Explosive Substances Act following a police search.

Police Scotland said the 17-year-old male is expected to appear at Dundee Sheriff Court today.

He was charged following a search of an address at Troon Court in Dundee on Monday.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Tayside Division would like to reassure the public that in the circumstances there was no immediate threat to any members of the public, nor is there cause for wider concern in the community.”

A report has been submitted to the procurator fiscal.
