A DRUNK who fell asleep on a park bench has been jailed for breaching a tagging order.
William Hutton, 24, was confined to his house in Blackburn, West Lothian, between 7pm and 7am.
But police found him crashed out on a bench in nearby Armadale at half-past midnight – just five-and-a-half hours after the curfew came into force.
Hutton pleaded guilty at Livingston Sheriff Court that he breached his bail order on November 21.
Andy Aitken, defending, said his client had “significant issues with alcohol”.
He said: “He doesn’t remember anything about this offence. He was so inebriated that he passed out on the bench.”
Sheriff Grahame Fleming QC told Hutton: “No sentence other than imprisonment is appropriate having regard to the nature of this offence.”
Hutton was sentenced to 60 days in prison, backdated to the day he was remanded in custody for the offence.
