Drug fears after paramedic's bike stolen

POLICE are investigating the theft of a paramedic's bike from outside a church in Edinburgh.

The theft took place at around midday today, from outside St George's West church in Shandwick Place.

Two black panniers containing drugs including liquid diazepam, cardiac drugs and other general medicines were attached to the mountain bike, which is silver and black.

A police spokesman said: "We are anxious to recover both the bike and the drugs and we are appealing for any information that can assist us.

"The drugs stolen include liquid diazepam and other powerful drugs, which should not be taken without a prescription.

"Anyone who has been offered these drugs or who has any information which could assist our enquiries, should contact police immediately."

Anyone with any information should contact Lothian and Borders Police on 0131 311 3131, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
