A DRUG addict attacked two men in the space of three days in the city centre to get money to feed his habit.
Matthew Price, 24, had “completely lost the plot” through his addictions, Edinburgh Sheriff Court heard.
The first attack took place at 1.30am on April 1, when Price attacked Gordon Aitken at the Omni Centre in Greenside Place. The thug told Mr Aitken “I’m going to do you” before tripping his victim as he tried to run away. He then punched him in the face and stole his wallet and phone.
Three days later, he attacked Andrew Illingworth in Princes Street and was caught kicking his victim as he lay on the ground by police after they were called by a bus driver.
Price, described as a prisoner in Saughton, was yesterday jailed for 16 months after pleading guilty to assaulting both men, robbing Mr Aitken and attempting to rob Mr Illingworth.
