Drivers gear up to raise funds for city's teenage cancer unit
CAR enthusiasts from across the country are to help raise funds for a teenage cancer unit in Edinburgh.
Dozens of drivers and former cancer patients will attend the country's biggest motor show at the weekend to raise money for the Teenage Cancer Trust's unit at the Western General.
Twelve performers at the MotorFair in Knockhill will take part in charity laps for the TCT – which also wants to build a unit at the new Sick Kids hospital when it opens in 2012 – in front of an expected 20,000 fans.
Spectators will be invited to pay 10 to be a passenger in one of the laps. Lynne McNicoll, TCT's Edinburgh-based fundraiser, said: "I am looking forward to getting an exciting lap round the track."
