Drinks giant helps tackle drunk-driving
DIAGEO, one of the world's biggest drinks companies, is to sponsor a major winter safe driving campaign targeting drunken drivers which is being operated by Grampian Police and Northern Constabulary, it was revealed yesterday.
The drinks giant is funding a series of safety messages to be broadcast on local radio stations in the North-east and the Highlands during the forces' joint "winter safe journey" campaign which will run until the end of February.
The campaign, which will be backed by police enforcement across the two force areas, was officially launched at Brodie Castle in Moray, close to the border of the two police force areas, by Stewart Stevenson, Scotland's Minister for Transport.
