Drags Aloud back Christmas tree recycling initiative
CABARET stars Drags Aloud are backing a council initiative encouraging people to recycle their Christmas trees in the new year.
Edinburgh City Council is providing a Christmas tree recycling service in January for residents who don't have brown garden waste bins.
Drags Aloud's Jessica James said: "Drags Aloud are the queens of recycling – just look at our wardrobe. We are happy to support the council's initiative and will recycle our tree this Christmas."
The compost made from recycled Christmas trees will be used to help keep Edinburgh's parks and gardens looking great.
Environment leader, Councillor Robert Aldridge, said: "We're giving Edinburgh's residents the opportunity to make sure that their Christmas trees are recycled and transformed into a rich nourishing treat for our beautiful parks and gardens."
