DONALD Trump confirmed today he will jet into Aberdeen to visit his “great” club after he officially opens the newly renovated Trump Turnberry resort.

The presumptive Republican US presidential nominee will be in Scotland on the day the result of the EU referendum is announced.

It will be the first time the property tycoon has been in the country since he announced his candidacy for president last year.

Mr Trump revealed that he would be travelling north to Menie Estate on Twitter yesterday.

He tweeted: “After @TrumpTurnberry I will be visiting Aberdeen, the oil capital of Europe, to see my great club, @TrumpScotland.”

And he stated that his club in Ayrshire would be the “world’s best” resort.

Trump Turnberry has now reopened its doors to guests after a 200 million pound refurbishment which has taken place over the past eight months.

All the bedrooms have been remodelled along with the hotel bars and restaurants.

The iconic Turnberry Lighthouse has also been full restored and converted into a 3,500 pound per night two-bedroom presidential suite.

Mr Trump will travel to Scotland on June 22, two days before he cuts the ribbon to officially open the resort which the billionaire bought in 2014.

He will then fly up to Aberdeen to visit staff at Menie Estate, the links golf course he built which opened in 2012.

The golf fan named the dunes on the resort “the Great Dunes of Scotland” in memory of his mother Mary Macleod, who was born in Stornoway.

Mr Trump has since applied for planning permission to create a second golf course on the estate and also hopes to build hundreds of luxury holiday homes on the site.
