Rev Dr Donald Macdonald (Letters, 21 July) states that an Assisted Dying Bill will be “demeaning to human dignity”. Not so.
It is demeaning to human dignity to let some poor soul linger on in pain and misery until he or she finally fades away.
It is not demeaning to allow termination of one’s life when there is still some dignity of life left and before this stage is reached.
