Debate gets go-ahead
A DEBATE on the future of Edinburgh's festivals has been given the green light to go ahead for a third year.
The second Edinburgh Festivals Open Breakfast Debate was held in August and was chaired by Kirsty Wark.
Council officials said that the debate led to a sense that "progress had been made" and agreed to hold the event again on August 13, 2011.
The event brings together festival directors, organisers, promoters, venue and accommodation providers, public sector agencies, elected members, stakeholders and audiences to debate the issues facing the city's festivals.
