Second court appearance for Suzanne Pilley murder accused

THE former lover of missing Suzanne Pilley made a second appearance behind closed doors at court yesterday.

David Gilroy, 47, was released on bail last week after he was charged with murder and breach of the peace.

Yesterday Gilroy appeared in private in front of Sheriff Nigel Morrison QC and was again granted bail.

His agent Jim Wardlaw spoke briefly to reporters after the hearing. He said: "He was judicially examined and thereafter he was fully committed for trial. A further petition for bail was lodged and granted."

Gilroy, of Silverknowes, made no plea or declaration.

At a judicial examination the accused can be questioned by the fiscal for an explanation or comment on a statement he or she may have made.

The body of 38-year-old bookkeeper Ms Pilley has not yet been found.

She was last seen arriving at her office at Infrastructure Managers in Thistle Street on 4 May. CCTV images showed her getting two buses into town and visiting Sainsbury's before walking to her office.

Gilroy will have to return to court at a later date.
