Darling challenger wins ex-bus chief's support
A COUNCILLOR who is looking to dislodge the chancellor Alistair Darling at the next Westminster elections has received the backing of the former boss of Lothian Buses.
Councillor Jason Rust, the Conservative representative of the Colinton/Fairmilehead ward, is to stand for the Edinburgh South West seat at the next election.
And Neil Renilson, former chief executive of Lothian Buses and Transport Edinburgh Limited, said: "I know that Jason Rust has a great interest in public transport in Edinburgh, particularly the number 18 and 45 bus routes across the south-west of the city.
"He has worked extremely hard for local bus services to be retained and improved. I have no doubt he would provide a strong voice in parliament."
