Daniel Jamieson's top running destinations

Daniel Jamieson, 25, a marketing student from Morningside, picks his top five running destinations.

1 The Canalside Like the billboard says, 'It's your own free gym membership'. It's great at this time of year.

2 The Links/Meadows You have to watch out for bikes and pedestrians, but there's generally plenty of room for everyone.

3 Water of Leith There's something I love about running beside water. It puts a calming edge on exertions.

4 Arthur's Seat It's a killer on the way up but on the way down your legs feel so light it's like riding a skateboard.

5 The Shore You can run from Leith to Portobello by the biggest stretch of water in the city.
